Activity and Interests Car: necessary Travel: The nearest airport is Bergerac, about 45 mins drive, used by Ryanair and Flybe etc. Hire cars can be booked in advance. It is necessary to have a car here in order to fully enjoy what the region has to offer. Also within travelling distance of both Bordeaux and Toulouse Int Airports, approx 2 hours and 1 hour 45 minutes respectively. Distances: 3km to nearest village of Sauveterre with its shops, bars and restaurant. Just five minutes drive away you can sit in one of the two restaurants at the foot of the stunning Chateau de Bonaguil. The town of Fumel is just under 10km away with access to large supermarkets and shops. An hours drive takes you to the beautiful chateaux and villages of the Dordogne including Domme, Sarlat, Bergerac and Beynac where you can canoe or kayak down the River at your leisure.
